If you're riding this epic route unsupported, relying on public transport to bring your bike(s) with you can be fraught with extra stress. Why not avoid the headaches and get your bike(s) shipped instead?
I act as a middle-man service, providing a delivery location, secure storage, packing service, and mechanical expertise. Confirm dates with me, then organise shipping with Sendbike, a UK-based bike courier, supplying them with my Pendeen workshop as the Cornwall collection/delivery address. I take care of the rest.
I work with Trevedra Farm who provide a convenient location near Land's End where you can pick up/drop off your bike(s). While on-site at Trevedra, you're welcome to use their bathroom and washing facilities, and to buy refreshments from their on-site cafe.
Highly recommend this service; my bike arrived quickly and really safely packed. Drop-off and communication throughout was also really easyFred, London
Arrange for the courier to deliver your bike(s) to my Pendeen workshop at least 3 working days before you plan to set off (please contact me to confirm dates before booking the courier). I will unbox and reassemble them, ensuring everything is properly adjusted ready for the start of your ride. On the day of your ride, your bike(s) will be waiting for you at Trevedra Farm, only a few short miles from the start. Just let reception know that you've arrived and they'll bring your bike(s) to you. You're welcome to make use of their bathroom facilities, and to grab a snack from their cafe, before you set off.
After you arrive at Land's End, take a gentle ride back to Trevedra Farm (you pass it on the A30 on your way). When you arrive there, let reception know and they'll take your bike(s) from you. You're then welcome to use their on-site bathroom and washing facilities to freshen up, phone for a taxi, grab a delicious snack from their cafe, and put your feet up while you wait for your lift. Your bike will arrive at its destination, safe and sound, a few days later.
I'm well-placed to look after the Land's End side of your trip but, whichever direction you're riding, you'll need someone dependable at John O' Groats too. Lindsay at the John O' Groats Cycle Transport Service provides a 'bike and rider' taxi service between John O' Groats and Inverness as well as bike shipping facilities.
